Tsubaki Oil: The Japanese Secret to Soft Hair

If I’m completely honest here, I am probably the worst at taking care of my hair. I wash and condition it but that’s about it. With thick, curly hair that is extremely prone to frizz (especially during Florida summers), I never had the patience to learn how to properly take care of my hair. Once I got into college though, I wanted to change these bad habits and do my hair a favor, by taking care of it.

Despite this, I’ve tried a few products but not many honestly. It’s so expensive to properly take care of my type of hair so I don’t really get experimental. But about 3-4 years ago, I got really interested in Asian beauty and found my holy grail product: Oshima Tsubaki Camellia Oil. It is now the only product I use on my hair and the reason why it’s so soft.

Tsubaki, or Camellia oil, is an ancient Geisha beauty secret. It makes your hair soft as well as keeps your hair hydrated, eliminates dandruff and protects it from the environment.

Tsubaki Oil even has a reputation for being good for your skin, another Geisha beauty secret. Although I’ve never tried it myself, the Geisha really knew their beauty secrets in the natural world around them.

If you’d like to try it yourself, you can buy it on Amazon, and it lasts you for a few months. Mine lasts about 4-5-ish months and a little really goes a long way!
